More Cosmo Cards to Share

My package of DeLovely has arrived. So I got right to playing with some challenges. First up my card for the Card Patterns sketch. I love the sweet images that are part of the cardstock elements.

Then I made a card based on the CPS sketch for the week. I jazzed up the image with a rub-on sentiment and some bling.

I'll finish up with a simple and a bit untraditional 4th of July card made using the CC Souvenir collection. I included another border strip as part of the sentiment.

My Cosmo Cricket Filled Weekend

Since I was supposed to be resting after being laid out by the infection in my foot I spent the weekend crafting. I LOVE the new DeLovely collection by Cosmo Cricket. I have been resisting and entering every giveaway imaginable to get it but to no avail. So I finally decided to order some off the internet because for reasons unbeknownst to me my LSS doesn’t carry Cosmo Cricket?! So in anticipation for my new Cosmo Cricket I decided to use up some of my old Cosmo Cricket. The result? A card from each line of Cosmo Cricket that I own (11 lines). I’ve showed you two already for the Moxie Fab challenge however I like looking at my completed personal challenge in all its glory so you get to see it that way too including the repeats. So get ready for a picture heavy post filled with Cosmo Cricket goodness!

Again my very simple card from Joy Ride featuring bicycles and tiny type.

I love how easy the Cogsmo collection makes boy cards!

This is my oldest collection Souvenir. I got it at ACMoore during a make and take event awhile ago. I stuck mostly to the paper, tiny type and cardstock elements but I decided to use up some extra brads for this card. This is actually already in an envelope soon to be on its way across the country.

Here is a simple thanks with the Get Happy line. I decided it needed something a bit more so I added the threaded buttons but the bold paper really speaks for itself.

I sometimes fine it difficult to make cards with Garden Variety because I want to connect the farm elements to the sentiment. As a result I made my own sentiment with the tiny type.

I love this image from Earth Love's cardstock elements. Her pose seems a little like she's wishing for a friend so I thought it would make a beautiful miss you card which I will need with all my friends spreading out a bit after college.

Here again is my card using The Boyfriend. I love that Cosmo Cricket Makes masculine lines although my card is a touch girly still.

Next up is my card using Honey Pie. I needed a few thank yous so I kept the design simple and focused on the sentiment tag.

Here is a card with Hello Sunshine which is in a way labeled. I love the 'I love you' border. I have someone in mind for this card that will appreciate the excessive I love yous featured.

A card from Girl Friday. I used the cover sheet of the collection kit for some of the smaller panels and the border at the bottom of the page was so cute I didn't want to throw it out and used it to add to the sentiment. In the end I guess I didn't use up much of my supply but it feels great to find ways to use what might otherwise be garbage.

Once I used the border of Girl Friday I started reading all the bottoms to see how I could incorporate them in my crafting. So here again with my Material Girl card, I added the border to my sentiment. To the designers of Cosmo Cricket I want to say I appreciate the level of detail that goes into your wonderful pages and how every inch of them is packed with usable cuteness.

I didn't stop playing with my Cosmo Cricket after these cards were done but I'll share more at another time. I love how some bling, flowers, ink and rub-ons were really all I really needed in addition to my Cosmo Cricket stash to make so many cards. Just goes to show you the benefits of having really good product on hand. I can't wait till my package of DeLovely arrives so I can have even more great Cosmo Cricket goodness to play with. Hope my weekend crafting looks as fun as it was.

Scrap It With a Song Challenge #11

This week our song at Scrap It With a Song is I Can See Clearly Now as performed by Jimmy Cliff. My intereptation might take a bit of explanation but first… Our sponsor is the wonderful Michelle’s Scrapbooking and More home to Pixie Cottage Stamps. They also sell patterned paper, copics, and even more stamps. They are offering a $10 gift certificate to the winner.

As for my take I went with the sunny day theme of the song and scrapbooked about a sunny day spent outside. This goes to show you were are looking for creative takes on the song but just give us a quick explanation for the connection you’re making. I used a Sassafras Lass background, some Thickers for the title and CC Tiny Type for accents. Please check out the rest of the DT on the blog for extra inspiration, including members of the Michelle’s Scrapbooking and More DT, and then share your take on the song.

Moxie Fab World I Want to Ride My Bicycle Challenge Again

So after thinking I had no bicycle goodies to play with I found this border strip and border sticker in the Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride collection. So I have another entry into the Moxie Fab I Want to Ride My Bicycle Challenge. I kept things simple so the fun bicycles would be the focus. The background PP is from Joy Ride as well and the sentiment is Tiny Type.

CPS and Caardvarks

This card is for both Caardvarks and CPS. The Caardvarks challenge is to use embossing and stamping. For CPS, I replaced the arrow in the sketch with a simple swirl. I used Capella papers and the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Moxie Fab World I Want to Ride My Bicycle Challenge

Cath at Moxie Fab World has issued the challenge to use bicycles on a paper crafting project. At first I didn't think I had any bicycle themed supplies to use, but then I discovered this bicycle cardstock element from The Boyfriend by Cosmo Cricket. I used Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type and the paper from The Boyfriend. I encourage you all to join in, you have until June 28th. The card opens in a bit untraditional way so the paper clip is holding it closed for the shot.

Pink Elephant Scrapbooking Challenge #13

The Pink Elephant is back with a fun new challenge! In some ways this is a simple one. No sketches or colors. Simply show us your layouts using extra photos with pockets, flippers, accordion minis, or any other fun creative way to add lots of extra photos to your layouts. In my LO using the Basic Grey Origins collection, I made the large panel a pocket because I had so many extra pictures from the zoo. I plan on tucking some extra journaling in there, though there is some on the bottom. You can see the extra photos sticking out the top but they do slide neatly in. All the stickers are BG Origins too, but the title is AC Thickets and the cardstock is Bazzill.

Check out the rest of the DT on the blog and then share the link to your creation!

Updates and Projects to Share

Life had been busy for many reasons. Even though I just graduated I'm taking summer classes for my graduate degree. I have a big project due tomorrow but I'm taking a little break to share some things with you. I've been spending a lot of time on schoolwork but I've also been making cards for the Papercrafts call (They received 1500 cards for 152 spots!). However I do have some crafty things I can share. First up the picture above is my cousin graduating from college last Friday and the crafts I have to share were for her.

I made a mini graduation cap for her. We saw a graduation cap card in a store that she liked so I took it to the next level and made a little paper hat. As you can see its a square piece of cardstock. Then a long strip of cardstock with slits cut so it can be rolled up and attached.

The tassel is embroidery floss with a loop on one end and a simply knot. The tassel is held on by a brad. I added a 'celebrate' charm in lieu of a year charm because I wouldn't even know where to find one.

Next up are some little graduation treat I made. They are meant to be chocolate caps. Reese Peanut Butter cups with Keebler Deluxe Grahams on top and some icing tassels. Very simple with no baking skills required.

Last to share is a picture of me and my friends from college who came to visit me in my new apartment. MK brought a big bag of cookies to share, though in the end my boyfriend wound up eating most of them. I'm hoping to get some crafty projects done over the weekend because I am finishing a class this week but will be starting another one soon. But I'm not sure how much I'll get to because I have a bug bite that has turned into an infection in my foot and left me on crutches. The trick is figuring out how to keep my foot elevated while crafting. I'll be back tomorrow with my Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge LO!

Scrap It With a Song Challenge #10

Another week, another song at Scrap It With a Song. This week's song is Ridin Solo by Jason Derulo. I took a lyric right from the song to make this graduation card for my younger cousin. She listens to all kinds of music, but I thought she would be a great person to appreciate the hip-hop inspiration of the card. I used Sassafras Lass papers and Cosmo Cricket tiny type for this card. When I first got tiny type I didn't know that I would ever use it but I find that I love it and want more. This week is being sponsored by our DT member Angela's shop Toucan Scraps. The winner will get a 6 pack of 8x8 digi papers. Check out the DT inspiration on the blog then share with us your take.

Pink Elephant Scrapbooking Challenge #12

The Pink Elephant has a new scrapbook challenge this week. We have a great sketch and challenge you to use vacation photos. I have lots of vacation photos still to scrap so this was an easy one for me. Pretty much everything is from Basic Grey's Offbeat collection. I printed the journaling on cardstock and cut it into strips. Can't wait to see all the wonderful interpretations from our participants. Also check out the rest of the DT on the blog for more inspiration.

Scrap It With a Song Challenge #9

Back with a new song at Scrap It With a Song. This week is Could Not Ask for More by Sara Evans. It is pretty touching and quite frankly a bit sappy, but I decided to go another way with it. My LO's title comes from the lyrics "these are the moments." I paired that phrase with a picture of my cousin and I that really exemplifies are fun together attitude and relationship. That picture is from my 21st birthday where she is pretending to steal a lick of the whipped cream off the top of my first legal drink. The rest of the DT has some great inspiration so please visit the blog to see that and then show us your take. It can be sappy or silly a card or a LO. Anything goes as long as you link it to the song.

Pink Elephant Scrapbooking Challenge #11

The challenge this week at Pink Elephant is a color challenge cleverly titled "What is black and white with color all over?". Basically use a black and white photo but any colors you would like with the paper and embellishments. This week my LO features a photo from our hikes with some reflective journaling. I used some CC Earth Love, paired with BG rubons, and AC Thickers. Check out the blog for more inspiration and then show us your take!

Scrap It With a Song Challenge #8

This week's new song at Scrap It With a Song is Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. This song has so many possibilities. For my DT LO, I focused on a LO about FUN with 'fun' in the title. Here is a LO about me and my cousins having fun feeing dolphins in Sea World. I've used some Sassafrass Lass background paper and Basic Grey letters.

This week is being sponsored by the fabulous YourScrapbookStash.com! They have generously donated a $25 gift certificate to one lucky winner. I can't wait to see everyone's take on this song and I'm sure that gift certificate is some serious motivation as well. Check out the blog for more DT inspiration.

Pink Elephant Scrapbooking Challenge #10

This week at the Pink Elephant there is another sketch challenge. This sketch can use a lot of photos or just one big one so it fits many styles. I used Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride for my LO today. The sayings all come from the bottom on the papers because they are the names of the papers. One way to use every last bit of such fun paper. I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with and please check out all the other talented DT ladies over at the blog for inspiration.

Sketch Girl #19

The new Sketch Girl sketch was posted over the weekend. Unfortunately my card is a little late. I moved in and started summer classes yesterday so things have been a bit crazy. But here it is and its featuring an adorable little stamp from our sponsor Sew Many Cards.

I'm excited to see how you will all use the new sketch. I think its a great sketch for stamps so I expect to see a lot of people inking up and coloring. Don't forget to check out the other Sketch Girls, find their links on my sidebar.
