All the news from CHA and the extra giveaways makes for an exciting blog week for scrappers. Sassafras is featuring their new lines on their blog so I thought I would share with you a card made with their goodies. They had a warehouse sale in the spring and of course I had to get one of everything. The package came with some adorable felties that I wasn't quite sure how to use but the Paper Sundaes challenge of a Back to School theme got me inspired and I paired the apple feltie with the apple paper. The two new lines are Count Me In and Mix and Mend. I love both these lines for the same reason I always love Sassafras. Count Me In is adorable and whimsical and then Mix and Mend is frilly and vintage. But both have a fun color palette. Check out the new releases and find out how you can get a chance to win them!

Scrap It With a Song #15
This week at Scrap It With a Song we are using the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow the Katherine McPhee version. I created a mini album for this week about graduating from college. I focused on the dreams really do come true lyric. There are so many fabulous ways to use this song and if nothing else a rainbow project is really fun! Our sponsor this week is Sew Many Cards which makes some adorable digital stamps that I have in the past had the pleasure to work with and they will be giving the winner 5 digi stamps of their choice. Check out the blog for more inspiration and to share your creation!

Paper Sundaes DT Call
Paper Sundaes is having a DT call. Now this is my kind of challenge blog because they a wide variation in their challenges. Some weeks it is a technique and others its a particular supply or maybe a color. Well for their call they asked for examples of favorite projects. I think its hard for me to choose favorites but I'm going to share with you and them some past cards I've loved and a new project inspired by their latest challenge.
I love color and funky paper. My first card featuring some SEI Bridgeport and my second card is made with Sassafras. In both cards I tried to mix lots of different colors in a complimentary way. As you can see and you would know from following my blog the only thing I like more than challenges is patterned paper.
For my last project I have my entry into their latest challenge to make your own flowers. GCD Studios shared a flower technique that I modified to create this 3D pendant for my cousin's birthday.
So check out the Paper Sundaes challenge blog to find out more details about the current challenge and the DT call.
Cards and a Recipe to Share
This first card is for challenge #17 at Easy Craft Projects Challenges. A new to me challenge blog with a photo inspiration. The photo is various word strips similar to the one on my card. I loved the American Craft background paper and unfortunately the colors are a little off in the photo but I like the way it looks IRL.
This second card is for the Etsy Inspired Challenge. I just found them last week and was lucky enough to win my first challenge. I love the inspiration there so I'm back for a new challenge. This week the store is Mermaid Tears Jewelry and there was lots of beautiful jewelery there. My card was primarily inspired by this pastel stacked sea glass necklace. Head on over to the blog to play along. This card features 4 different PP from Basic Grey's Kioshi 6x6 pad. I used my Fiskars punch for the borders.
My last card is based on the CPS sketch. I was also inspired by the vintage typewriter posted atPaper Crafts as part of their Inspired Style challenge. I used Basic Grey Kioshi again with some Prima flowers.
One last thing... I am currently procrastinating from my school work by making muffins and sharing some cards with you. The smell of banana nut wafting through the air is delicious. Need a recipe?
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 mashed overripe banana
crushed walnuts
1/2 egg
1/3 cup applesauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 brown sugar
Mix all dry ingredients together and mix all wet ingredients together separately. Then combine and add walnuts. Stir just until combined. Put in the oven at 350 for 25 mins. There is applesauce instead of oil so simply spray the cupcake pans with some cooking spray or use foil liners. It makes only 6 standard sized muffins. The recipe can be doubled though. With only two people in our house six is plenty.

My Mind's Eye Challenge
My Mind's Eye has issued a challenge this month to make a project based on a sketch and the word hope. Check out the details here on their blog. I made my LO with supplies from the Lush collection in blue and brown including the letters, ribbon, brads, and paper. I used a different MME line for the base of the LO. Unfortunately I can't seem to make blogger display my picture right side up.

Scrap It With a Song #14
This week we are focusing on the tune, 'L-O-V-E' by Nat King Cole at Scrap It With a Song. You can focus on a lyrical line from the song, or on the theme of love. Also consider letting the lettering style of spelling out a word with a sentence for each letter or any other inspiration you can take from it. I was inspired by the lettering style and chose to represent my sentiment with just representative letters. I used Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine papers. Our sponsor this week is once again our DT member, Angela, aka Toucan Scraps. She designs digital scrapbooking and craft printable kits. Today she is offering the winner of this challenge a pack of 6 digi papers (8 x 8 inches) from her store at I Did It Creations (the winner can choose).

Card Style Challenge in the Moxie Fab World
Here's another attempt at using a specific style for the Moxie Fab World Style Challenge. This time I was going for classy and elegant. I used a sheer flocked ribbon, some rich purples, and a shiny finish on the background. These are SEI papers my mom picked up on clearance at Micheal's big sale a few weeks ago. I used the CPS sketch this week as well. I've been checking out many other people's interpretations of the different styles and I encourage everyone to give the challenges a shot no matter what your own personal style is because its fun to challenge and stretch yourself.

Card Style Challenges in the Moxie Fab World
Cath from Moxie Fab World is issuing a week of challenges inspired by the new Card Style special edition. The new issue has cards divided by style so that you can develop your style or delve into a new one. Hop on over to the Moxie Fab World to get the challenge details and enter your cards!
I wanted to challenge myself to use the same line on two different styles and considering the styles chosen I went with Monstrosity by Sassafras. My first card is for the Fun and Cute category. This card has the friendly patterns, the whimsy, and the simple design necessary for Fun and Cute!
My second card is Clean and Graphic. I have lots of 'white' space, clean lines, and simple shapes. While it isn't exactly minimalist, I must say I struggle to use only a few supplies when there is so much lovely product in my stash begging to be used. I also created this card for the Caardvarks birthday card challenge. Hope you liked my takes on the challenges. I will hopefully be back with Vintage or Shabby Chic and Classy and Elegant later this week. I must say I'm a bit worried that those will be even more of a challenge but fun because of that.

Scrap It With a Song #13
Scrap It With a Song is back with a new song this week; Happy Together by The Turtles. Our sponsor this week is once again, Cassandra from PaperMom. She has adorable digi images and handmade items to swoon over. She is offering the winner 3 digi images!! Check out the blog to see more DT inspiration. My LO was done with some Sassafras papers. I kept it really simple so the focus would be on the fun images and journaling. These are the girls that I lived with freshmen year, four years later right before graduation.

Etsy Inspired #96
I've heard of Etsy Inspired in the past but never played along. Lately I've been trying to stretch my creativity a bit more though so I thought it would be a good challenge to try. The Etsy Shop this week is Octavia & Brown which sells vintage goods. I loved the vintage letters and numbers as well as the bird statues. I remembered the bird stickers from the Basic Grey Kioshi line and so I combined the image with the papers and letter stickers. I added a rubon in the corner for a bit of the elegant feel of the items available. The challenge is sponsored by Octavia & Brown and Charleston Scrapbook Company. Hope you all have had a great weekend. I have to go catch up on some reading for class tomorrow. Oh the joys of summer classes!

Card Patterns 71
I'm still obsessed with my new DeLovely papers so I used them with the Card Patterns sketch this week. I layered a Basic Grey rubon over the DeLovely element. I also layered a gem over the middle of the buttons. I'm not a big fan of buttons with four holes but they were the right size so I took care of the problem by just covering it up. In related new even though I just got my hands on DeLovely Cosmo Cricket is revealing all their new lines next week. They've had fun guess the name of the line games all week and while I didn't guess any right, it was a fun contest.

Tuesday Trigger Poppin' Off the Page
This week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger is very funky and I knew right away what image I wanted to use. Check it out and play along!
Besides the trigger I used the CPS sketch. I'm not very experienced with marker coloring so I kept things solid. I also kept the embellishments simple because the stamped element was so attention grabbing and the most inspired by the trigger.
Finding Inspiration in a Layout Challenge
I love to scrapbook almost as much as I like to make cards so I found the new Moxie Fab World challenge to be really fun. The challenge is to be inspired by a LO from Creating Keepsakes which you see above. I can't wait to see to other takes on the challenge.
My card is using Basic Grey's Boxer line. There were several ways I was inspired by the LO. I really wanted to make a photo card so I chose this shot from one of our hikes. I think nature shots make great card embellishments and have used them in the past. I made a sketch of the LO including the circle element, strips, and ribbon. I used chipboard letters like in the title and I loved the brads on the background so I used gems for a similar effect.

Scrap It With a Song #12
This week the song at Scrap It With a Song is America the Beautiful fitting with the holiday. We have a generous sponsor in Nikki Sivils Scrapbooks. Check out the prize package and other DT inspiration at the blog. Since it was before the holiday I didn't have any patriotic photos so I scrapped about a beautiful place in America that I've been too. Lake George New York is a gorgeous place. I used an old sketch from Creative Scrappers #107

Amy's Challenge at Do More With Less
The fabulous and talented Amy is guest blogging at Do More With Less and has issued a challenge. The challenge: Use more than 3 patterned papers on one card. That was pretty easy for me. My supply addiction is mostly to paper. So again I reached for my Cosmo Cricket because I'm obsessed with it lately. I use three patterned papers from the Hello Sunshine line and a tag that includes a few more patterns just for fun. It's a pretty simple card but with all those bold patterns I wouldn't want to do too much. Amy is offering one winner a $15 gift certificate to Two Peas so come play along by July 15th.
Tuesday Trigger: A Pleasing Palette Again
When I saw the vase and flowers stickers on my tag below I thought of the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World again and decided to whip up a quick tag. The original picture only has a touch of yellow but I love yellow so I used it all over the tag.
Hope you all have a pleasant 4th of July!

Basic Grey Challenge Week 23
The challenge at Basic Grey Challenges this week is a photo inspiration challenge. These are not my strong suit but when I saw the picture I had this PP from Nook and Pantry in mind and decided to give it a shot. It's a very simple square card with a Basic Grey rub-on sentiment. I decided that I would let the bold PP be the focus. Like every week the Basic Grey challenge is sponsored by the fabulous and generous Simon Says.
Tuesday Trigger: A Pleasing Palette
I'm not sure I've ever done a Tuesday Trigger even though I follow the Moxie Fab World Blog. But I was really struck with the color combination of the trigger this week so I wanted to play along. I encourage all of you to do the same.
I used Kioshi papers from Basic Grey for my card. I hand cut the vase and most other elements are stickers from the line. Some inking and bling finished it off.

Pink Elephant Scrapbooking Challenge #14
This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant is Red White and Blue with a sketch. So snap some pictures this weekend and then get right to scrapping!
