ICS #5
I made this card with Inspirational Card Sketch #5. I worked with BG Euphoria again. The stamps are from Hero Arts. This week ICS is offering some cute blog candy so be sure to check out their challenge this week.

Recipe Challenge #37
I made this for Recipe Challenge #37 at Sketches by Tamara. I also used Card Sketch #81. Her sketches are fun and I'm enjoying going back and using some of the older ones. The recipe challenge was to use use flowers, buttons, and sitckles/glitter. Well up until now I've kind been hoarding my stickles but once I used them the other day I can't seem to stop so that part was easy for me. I traced chipboard flowers to make the flowers from the same Boxer paper I used for the rest of the card. Buttons are always a cute center for flowers so overal the recipe challenge was simple but fun. Also today I recieved some happy mail. I won a $20 Michael's giftcard from creatingkeepsakes.com and so I can't wait to go out this weekend and pick up some new goodies. I really want some more BG 6x6 packs so I'm hoping my Michael's will have some that I haven't gotten my hands on yet.

The Pink Elephant #3
I made this card for the Pink Elephant challenge #3. This week there was a sketch to follow. I found this sketch quite challenging and wasn't sure what to use to fill the top until I came across that giant sticker from Adorn-it in my stash. I got a sheet of stickers from them as well as a t-shirt when I entered their teen contest a couple of years ago. The stickers are really cute and now that I've pulled them out again I'm looking forward to using them some more. For this card I also used the Euphoria papers from BG which are very bold and colorful so I always feel challenged to make sure my card isn't too busy when using them. My exams are over for the week so I have some time to relax and get crafty. Tonight at our craft club we are making cards to donate to soldiers. I hope we have a good turn out.

Tamara's Recipe #36 and The Pink Elephant Challenge #2
Happy Sunday!
Having just discovered Tamara's sketches I had to keep playing. Here is my take on the recipe challenge #36 and using sketch #69. The recipe called for bling (little gold pieces), flowers (on the PP) and something I've been hoarding (Stickles). I used DCWV Once Upon a Time line which is great for girly cards. I've been making so many cards lately I'm going to have to start surprising people with happy mail because I don't know what to do with them all. Also I was keeping in mind the Pink Elephant Challenge this week. This is my kind of blog because I love elephants and love cardmaking. Their logo is so adorable and I'm excited to play along. Their challenge was All that Glitters and with Sitckles, glitter papers, and the little gold bling this card fits the bill. I need to get studying because I have two tests this week so no more crafting for me until they are over.

Tamara's Sketch #83 and Card Patterns #3
This Thank You card was made with Card Patterns Sketch #3. They have an awesome sponsor this week, I {heart} Papers and the guest designed Hanneke did great job with the sketch. For this card I used Sassafras Lass Woodland Whimsy which I love because it uses so many colors.
I made this card for Tamara's Sketch #83. I just found this sketch site yesterday when I was looking for some new challenges. I love the site because there is one card sketch as well as a recipe challenge each week. I'm going to give this week's recipe a try later today. For this card I used some handmade papers my mom bought for me a few years ago. So many of them have a shine and a sparkle which I love. Also the shine in the background paper inspired me to add the gold bling to the tree image.
Also when crafting I had the Caardvarks kraft cardstock challenge and Stamp Something 3D challenge in mind. Both cards use kraft cardstock and since I popped up the stamped images on my Happy Spring card to add more dimension it works for the Stamp Something 3D challenge.

Kazan's Sketch 20
Here's my take on this week's sketch at 2S4Y. I used mostly Sassafras Lass products but also used a Making Memories sticker, a Prima flower and some bling and ribbon from Micheal's. Currently I'm in the process of trying to change up my blog since I felt it was too busy so I'm keeping it at the bare minimum for now until I figure out what I want. So far this weekend has been a bust for me. I think it's because I overslept and haven't had much motivation but I've got get some school work done so I better remedy that.

Quick Cards
Here's two card I made last night. These cards took only around 30 mins each which for me is a short time. I usually spend so much time second guessing my choices but I decided that these cards needed to be quick and simple and they turned out that way. The Luv Ya! card was inspired by the 1st sketch at Card Patterns. I used the Colorbok Friendly Forest line again for these. I love those little creatures that are printed on the sheets.

Card Patterns and Card*A*Licious
For this card I combined the challenge at Card*A*Licious and the sketch for a new sketch site I found, Card Patterns. Card Patterns has posted some fun sketches and super-cute DT creations so far. They also have a guest DT each week so I'm looking foward to being introduced to lots of fresh talent. The challenge at Card*A*Licious was simple this week: a friend card with ribbon and green. I love green and ribbon and friends always enjoy a card. I particularly loved Janelle's take on the challenge this week. This card was made with BG Boxer, a Prima flower, Michael's ribbon and bling, a Making Memories sticker and some odds and ends from my stash.
Right now I'm waiting anxiously to pick housing for next year. I'm hoping to get a single again but there is very few spots and lots of people who want them but I'm also looking into applying for an in-house mentoring posistion that comes with pay and an awesome single room.

ICSketches #4
Here's the card I made for ICS #4 this week. I thought the sketch was a bit tricky but I like the challenge sometimes. I love BG Lilykate papers but they aren't as easy for me to work with as the other BG lines. I also used Micheal's bling (which I love), some Target flowers, and a DCWV sticker. I'm really enjoying the new ICS site and the DT is so talented.

CPS 103
Here's the card I made based on CPS #103. The CPS blog hop was lots of fun this weekend. I'm not totally in love with my card this week but I think I should have chosen less girly papers. The design team announcement for My Sketch World was announced today and unfortunately I didn't make it but I'm excited to see the work from the new DT in the coming weeks.

Happy V-day and ICS Sketch
Hope everyone's Valentine's day is filled with fun and love!
Recently Fink has introduced me (and the rest of the Let's Scrap ning community) to Inspirational Card Sketches and since I love sketches I had to participate. Also the flowers RAK provided me some motivation. The Good Luck card above was made using the sketch and BG Mellow papers. I love the little forest characters from the Colorbok line so I had to include one.
Here are the valenitnes I recieved from one of the preschool classes I work with. Notice the delcious Dove chocolate one of the children gave us. She and her family so sweet;they even brought roses for the head teacher. The kids had so much fun giving and getting valentines and were very excited by the temporary tattoos that seemed to come with almost every valentine this year. Though be aware that temporary tattoos can come off your child and become permantly attached to leather like furniture (something I found out yesterday from one of the parents).
Last but not least this adorable little man is my counsin's new puppy. He's 3 months old but already as big as her other dog. He's a Rot mix with some of the silliest but cutest coloring I've ever seen.

Card-A-Licious 13 and CPS 102
For this card I combined the Card-A-Licious challenge and CPS sketch. CPS is having some amazing sponsors during their anniversary celebration who are certainly worth checking out. I love the cute Starving Artistamp's they featured today. The Card-A-Licious challenge was exactly that this week. It had to be a thank you card with stitching, felt and the color pink. Stitching was easy but I didn't have much felt except that bright yellow felt rickrack. I used the We Are Memory Keepers White Out collection again. Today was beautiful in NJ! 60 degree weather! I really enjoyed walking to yoga and class in the sunshine.

2S4Y Laura's Sketch 19
Here's my card for Laura's Sketch 19. I pulled out some old DCWV Once Upon a Time paper and other soft and girly supplies. I love my Stickles that I got for Christmas and using them reminded me what an awesome touch they can add to projects. So many times at 2S4Y Kazan, Laura, and the designers make bows for their bard which is a look I love but I struggle with making them. But this sheer ribbon just begged for a bow to me so I gave it my best shot. Now I just have to decide who to give it to. Also below is my picture for their Eye Candy for Blog Candy celebration.
He probably wouldn't want me to share this or any photo, but I'll just hope he doesn't see it. This is my DBF last semester studying. We've been together for over five years and he may not be as hot as Johnny Depp (or George Clooney as Laura suggested) but I love him for a million other reasons including his willingness to help me with all my computer problems and giving his honest feedback on my cards.
This is the fun little activity I brought to preschool today for the science exploration. The preschool I'm working with is short on space and resources so the kids hadn't even gotten to play with magnets in their science center in the past. They really enjoyed exploring magnetism today. The sheer surprise and delight on their face when the magnet made objects snap to the top was great to see. Of course I also want to give a BIG thank you shout out to Melissa at LilyBean's Paperie for choosing my card as the winner of her Jillie Willie challenge.

My Sketch World DT Sketch
Here is one of the cards I made for the My Sketch World Design Team Call. It was made with We Are Memory Keepers White Out collection which I love and received from an awesome swap partner. Soon everyone will find out who made the team. While I would certainly love to be part of the team I am simply excited to see the wonderful talent that will make up the new DT. With 100 applications you know there will be some fabulous cards and LOs in the coming months. This is not the card I submitted for the call but I'll show that one soon as well. Also the new February LO Sketch is available so check it out for some inspiration. Also my new background is something I made from some beautiful digital scrapbooking freebies I found around the web. I hope to soon post some details of the sources I used. Thanks to my DBF for helping me figure out how make my file into something that I could post as my background.

Melissa's Jillie WIllie Challenge
Melissa over at Lilybean Paperie is hosting a challenge for everyone to make a card based on that super cute bag above. The bag is from Jillie Willie and she has so many other adorable products at her website. I love the bag and was definitely inspired by it. I also wanted to adapt the idea that Jingle used for the Use Your Stash Challenge. She made a ribbon cupcake and I thought my sister would love it so I made this card for her birthday on Wednesday. I think my sister will really like the card but I need to get working on her present.
CPS 100 Again and Caardvarks
The current challenge at Caardvarks is rather simple considering next Saturday is Valentine's Day. All I had to do was use hearts so I pulled out the Sassafras Lass papers I got for Christmas and have yet to use. I combined it all with the CPS 100 sketch since today is the last day for entries into their anniversary contest and I only had one entry so far. This card actually took me awhile to do and I struggled with it. It was funny that papers I loved so much and were part of the same collection were difficult for me to pull together.

CPS and Cardalicious
I made this card with CPS 101 and the Card*A*Licious challenge. The Card*a*Licious challenge was to use three different PPs and orange letter stickers. But I didn't have any orange letter stickers so I inked white ones to orange. CPS 101 was simple yet really fun. I sometimes really enjoy blankness on cards to let the patterned paper show. Tonight I worked on another card for the new Caardvarks challenge (hearts) which was quite easy to do.

2S4Y and Use Your Stash Challenges
Here's a card I made with the 2S4Y sketch this week. They just announced their new DT members and they have some amazing talent among those ladies. I can't wait to see their takes on the sketches each week. I also kept in mind the challenge at Use Your Stash. This month they asked to see ribbon and since I've been wanting to use all the fabulous ribbon I have collected I used some to ground the cute little deer. The papers are all from the new Colorbok Friendly Forest Collection. The leaves are from a fabulous Christmas swap I was in. I'm beginning to really feel better (nasty cold that's been going around) and hope to have time to complete a few more challenges this week. Now I'm off to write up some science plans for preschool. I'm really excited about this semester's preschool project that allows me to plan and execute science lessons. It's something I think the kids will have a lot of fun with and it will give me some great practical expereience.

Cupcake Cards
Cupcakes seems to be really in right now and after seeing them on sketch sites, in magazines, and then receiving the beautiful card below, I had to make my own cupcake card. I decided to use this week's 2S4Y Sketch from Laura. (Unfortunately I didn't get to post in time because my computer's hard drive went). So I borrowed the paper piecing idea from this month's Scrapbooks Etc magazine and combined it with the cute papers and embellishments from the Target Dollar Spot. The cupcake card below was made by Melody from Scrappy Jo's. Isn't it gorgeous?! Thanks so much for the valentine and I can't wait to receive the others from the valentine card swap.
My Sketch World: 2nd January Card Sketch
I made this card using the second My Sketch World card sketch for January. I had to make this card only from the small shopping bag worth of scrapbooking supplies my mom brought over yesterday. Unfortunately she didn't bring any stamps so I couldn't use the stamped image suggested in the sketch. She did though have the package of paper bits currently at the Target Dollar Spot so I was able to use lots of paper layers. In fact everything but the cardstock and bow were from the Target Dollar Spot. I'm looking foward to using more sketches from My Sketch World and finding out about the new DT over there.
CPS 100
Here's my take on CPS 100. They are having an awesome celebration with lots of prizes and many fantastic sponsors. For this card I used Basic Grey Boxer papers. I love how the papers have small subdued patterns. I don't use much blue but I really liked the blue in this line. I would have uploaded sooner but my laptop's hard drive went and I am temporarily without a computer. Luckily though I will be able to fix it and won't need to replace the computer.
