Shopping Our Stash 85: Suits Me to a T

Recently I've been working on a simple mini album about my trip to the Eric Carle museum in Massachusetts. My grams and I went over the summer with the primary motivation being to meet Mo Willems.

As I was working on it I saw the challenge over at Shopping Our Stash and knew it would be simple to fit it in. My T items are the color teal and the title Today. The journaling above is also on a tag that I cut the top off of. I'm glad I found a project to match those tags because the color in a little tricky for me.

Shopping Our Stash 84: Use Old Buttons

I seem to be much more inspired to create Christmas cards now that the season is over but at least I will have some ready for next year when I hit the Christmas creative slump again. This week at Shopping Our Stash they are asking for old buttons. While most of my card is from my relatively new November Paper Made Bakery kit, the buttons are from a variety of past kits. I always have a few buttons left over when I've created my 10 kit cards and I add them to a cute owlie dish on my table which I raided for this project.

Shopping Our Stash #79

Hello! I'm so excited that it's December and I can officially start preparing for Christmas. I understand the idea of respecting the seasons and not decorating for Christmas in October but after Thanksgiving I just feel like it should be time to start. But I held off the extra week. I hung up some fabbie Christmas cards today and tomorrow I will be adding the Christmas books to the shelf at school. I can't wait for all the fun crafts with the kids. Anyway I had fun adding to my Christmas card stash while drinking from my Owlie Christmas mug this weekend. This card is for the Shopping Our Stash challenge to use up Odds and Ends. The square gems are something my mom generously picked up but I don't reach for b/c of the strange shape but I'm using up some today. The papers are Basic Grey and the stamps are Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant. This is also for the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge

Shopping Our Stash 72

I'm using my new kit from Paper Made Bakery for the new Shopping Our Stash challenge. At SOS they are playing crafting tic-tac-toe. I choose the bottom row: yellow, sparkle, and sentiment. The cute yellow birdie, the fence and the flower are all from the Fresh Squeezed stamp set. So excited to get the rest of my stamps from them.

Shopping Our Stash 62

This week at Shopping Our Stash the challenge was to use something that we bought but never touched again with the idea of "What was I thinking?!" On my card, my "What was I thinking?!" item is the birds. They are so cute but I until recently I didn't even stamp (but I bought stamps) and so these birds just sat there uninked for a long time. Even now they aren't exactly my style. I seem to enjoy paper piecing and stamping on patterned paper and these are kind of hard to use with those techniques. But maybe I will try to give them another shot because they are so stinking cute.

Shopping Our Stash 61: Something New

The challenge this week at Shopping Our Stash is to use something new. Of course the idea is to use your stash so this means something in your stash that you haven't used and is therefore still new. Well for me that is the Basic Grey What's Up collection. I had to have it a few weeks ago at the LSS but was waiting to get the matching embellies which arrived last week so it was perfect for the challenge. This is also for the Basic Grey Challenge blog challenge to use things with wings. I've been trying focus on making some cards for the Cards foe Heroes drives out there. In my car is a pack of cards ready to be mailed to the Lawnscaping drive which you can check out here.
