Ombre Watercolor and Embossing Paste Background featuring Jess Crafts Digitals and Simon Says Stamp Stencil

Thinking of Ewe Sheep Card by Jess Crafts featuring Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts Stencil Embossing Paste and Watercolor Ombre

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a card featuring my sheep digital stamp from my Jess Crafts Etsy Shop. I started by creating a watercolor ombre background and then layering on embossing paste with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts stencil. Check out the video for more complete details.

Tips from this card/video:
Watercolors offer a wide range of color depending on the amount of water added so be sure to take advantage to stretch a small set of colors.
Use foam tape over embossing paste to adhere items flat.
Use markers to make digital sentiments printed on white match your card.

Simon Says Stamp Emboss It

I've been working on valentines for Winter Sims Cards From the Heart Card Drive. Here's one using a Newton's Nook image, a Paper Smooches sentiment, some Lawn Fawn dies, Impression Obsession background stamp, and the Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder. I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Embossing challenge

Let's Get Trendy Now!3 Day 5 Textured Layers

Amy Tsuruta, whose blog I've followed for years, is hosting a fun class/project called Let's Get Trendy Now! 3. It features 5 days of inspiration and a challenge for each day. All challenges are open until June 30th and I'm going to try to catch up and do them all. Next up for me is Day 5: Textured Layers. I used the Avocado Arts Sweet Treats Sweetie set. I added texture by embossing the chipboard with distress embossing powder, adding some sewn ribbon, and putting glossy accents on the sentiment heart. They are offering a prize for each challenge as well. For the textured layers challenge the prize is some fabulous Zva bling. I encourage you to check out the website for inspiration and to join in! I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog's Anything Goes Challenge.

Let's Get Trendy Now!3 Day 2 Sequins

Amy Tsuruta, whose blog I've followed for years, is hosting a fun class/project called Let's Get Trendy Now! 3. It features 5 days of inspiration and a challenge for each day. All challenges are open until June 30th and I'm going to try to catch up and do them all. First up for me is Day 2: Sequins. I made a flag embellishment with sequins for this very glittery 4th of July card. Unfortunately this card didn't photograph as well as I'd like, but I know my sister is going to love it. They are offering a prize for each challenge as well. For the sequins challenge to prize is a stamp set from Jane's Doodles. I encourage you to check out the website for inspiration and to join in! I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog's Anything Goes challenge.

Squeeze A Palooza 7 and Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes

Fresh Squeezed StampsSqueeze a Palooza is back and this month the theme is spring. I used The Sweet Life and some older Basic Grey Hello Luscious supplies. This is my second entry. I was already playing with the bees and I just adore them so much so another card was born. There's at least two chances to win but the more people who play along the more chances to win so check it out. I'm also linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

Simon Says Spring with Glimmer

Last night I made a quick spring themed card, but made it a thanks sentiment because I have quite a stock of simply spring cards. Simon Says Challenge this week asked for spring and glimmer and this is what I've got. I pulled out some Basic Grey Lemonade added some gems and glittered gel pen faux stitching. I hope to get some more crafting done this weekend because I have new goodies from the LSS. I know I need to buy less and make more, but the trip was a gift so I couldn't resist.

Remember to enter my blog candy to win some American Crafts paper flowers. You have until March 30th to leave a comment on this post.

A Card for a Special Girl

I recently heard about Delia, a little girl who's been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and could use some valentines. She especially loves owls so a card with owls would be especially appreciated. Well I love owls too and love giving away cards so I set to work on an owl valentine just for Delia today. Dustin Pike is generously giving away some digital freebies to those who are willing to make a card for this little girl. The digi images are of course owls so don't worry if you have no owls on hand. Also that post has mailing details for valentines for Delia. I combined my mission today with some challenges. I used two of the 365 Cards challenge (scallop, ribbon, and ink distressing and the white out sketch challenge). Cupcake Crafts called for Red and White all over though I added a touch of black. Simon Says Stamps asks for love this week.

Owl Favor Box

As I'm sure you know Perfect Presentations is the sponsor of Sketch Girl this week. Well Leigh Ann was kind enough to let the Design Team members try out her fabulous templates for ourselves. I was going to wait to use it for the next sketch but I wanted to share what cute things you can make. I worked with the favor box template and Sketch Girl sketch 10. This little box is the perfect size for giving Valentine's treats so I covered the sides with Love Birds paper from Chatterbox but tried not to make it too Valentine so the recipient could display it after the holiday or reuse it for another occasion. If you're looking to give a great little gift on a budget I'd suggest ordering a template because even at the dollar store gift bags add up fast without the homemade touch and this template will still be saved to your computer when Easter and all the other holidays roll around.

I of course could not resist adding a couple of other challenges in besides the sketch. The Simon Says challenge calls for punches which is my Fiskars round punch used on the flower and handles. I also was inspired by the Charisma Cardz challenge to use fruity colors. I decided to go for a more citrus-y take on the idea. The chipboard flower which I inked fits in with the Frosted Designs challenge to use chipboard. The little owl which coordinates with the other side of Love Birds is from a Sassafras Lass set. Well now I need to do a bit of homework after all the crafty fun of these last few days. Have a great weekend!
