Pink Elephant Don't Throw That Away Challenge

Here's my take on the Pink Elephant Don't Throw That Away challenge. This week at my craft club we decided to see what we could make with old magazines. We rolled magazine strips which was quite time consuming. I came home with a bunch of rolled tubes but no project. I have seen many people make frames but I didn't want it to be just a frame so this project is a card that has cardstock flaps that allow it to stand even though its so top heavy. I figure this will make a great quick present because its a card and a gift all at the same time.


Speaking of presents earlier today I made a couple of little boxes for small presents. I think this one would be perfect for some candies for my mom this mother's day.

ICS #13 and Vintage Plum Creative Cafe

Here's my take on this week's ICS sketch. I decided that since it was such a funky sketch it would be perfect for BG Obscure. ICS is having a DT call and since I love Dawn's sketches I figure I should give it a shot. So I'll be working on that sketch this weekend.


This is a bookmark I made for Vintage Plum's Creative Cafe hosted by Lea Lawson. Lea's orginal project used wire but I didn't have any so I swapped it for a wide craft stick. I love the way it turned out, but I'm hestiant to use it for its intended purpose because I'm always tossing my books into my bags with all my other junk and it'll probably get crushed. My cousin is gentle with books though so maybe she'll be getting a new bookmark. I have a busy weekend planned but I'm excited for it as well. Have a great weekend everyone!

Card-a-licious 20 and Pink Elephant Mom Challenge

Here's my card for the Pink Elephant's make something for mom challenge. I will be selling cards at a craft show with my friend this week, she'll be selling jewelery, and I thought that having a few Mom cards might not be a bad idea since Mother's Day is only two weeks away. I used mostly handmade paper for this card because I was thinking of my mom while I made it and she loves pink and bling so these papers were perfect. The Pink Elephant also has a recycling challenge this week which I'm still working on but will be sharing soon.


This second card is for the Card-a-licious challenge which was to make a birthday card using blue, green and circles. I used the new papers I won from last month's Scrapjazz LO challenge. Card-a-licious is offering up a prize this week so you should certainly consider joining them this week if you havent' yet.

CPS and Card Patterns

I decided to break out the SassLass this weekend.

Here's my card for the CPS sketch. I love the edges on the bottom of Sass paper because usually I have to handcut any borders I want but these add instant flare and save me time. One of my friend recently bought a bunch of the birthday cards I had stashed away and since I'm going to a show with another friend this weekend I decided to make some more.


I thought the sketch at Card Patterns would be perfect for the large stickers that come in the collection packs. I love when I can mix a bunch of bold patterns and funky colors together and still get something that look coordinated (using a collection pack certainly helps with that). I plan on doing some more cards this week and have some other projects I've done without posting but wanted to share these challenge cards.

Use Your Stash Tags

Here's my LO for the Use Your Stash challenge to use tags. I have two tags from the We R Memory Keepers pack I used. I loved that the pack had letters, paper and tags all together because it helped the LO come together quite quickly. I actually use tags quite a bit on LOs because many times they make a great place to put some journaling, so this was a fun easy challenge for me.

CPS, Vintage Plum, Pink Elephant, and ICS

Over at Vintage Plum they had a create a cupcake challenge and I decided to make another ribbon cupcake. My sister really liked the cupcake card I made her and I thought it would make another special birthday card for someone else. After I finished the cupcake accent I based the card on the CPS sketch this week.


I made this card for the Pink Elephant challenge to use pink, green and yellow and using the sketch from ICS. I've been making some scrapbook pages this week so I haven't had as much time for cards so I combined the challenges. I love the simplicity of the ICS sketch this week because it allowed for a lot of creativity. I was determined to mix some Sassafras Lass papers because I love them, but they challenge me with their eclectic nature.

CP Sketch 10

Here's my card for Card Patterns Sketch 10. These are some papers I found in my mom's stash and I used her Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I think we both love to find fun supplies to play with in each others stashes. After I was finished I realized Michelle's card must have really stuck with me because I too wound up with butterfly accented with Stickles along the side. I have a few free hours tomorrow morning and I can't wait for the crafty time. Have a fabulous day!
