Neat and Tangled Party Ensemble Challenge

Hello crafty friends! Today I have an entry for the latest Neat and Tangled Challenge to make a party ensemble. I was inspired to start with Wild Ones because it was a birthday set featuring my favorite thing to color: critters. I decided to make a card, a cake topper, a treat bag, and a name plate. For more information check out my video below:

I decided to come up with a simple soft color scheme that could be used throughout and was inspired by the animals as well as the treats I had.

I kept my cake topper simple because it is essentially disposable after the party, but I wanted the scale of it to match the cake and be noticed.

I pulled the yellow of the animals into the ensemble a bit more with some yellow candies and again kept the decoration simple as the candy is really more the focus.

However I felt like party guests would get a kick out of a personalized name tag and took a bit more care with this piece. I would make the name tags longer or shorter to accommodate the length of the person's name, but I thought this was another great place to include the party animal sentiment as these name tags are literally designating all the party animals who are attending. The Alpha dies from Neat and Tangled are perfect for this because they are tall and narrow and so they can spell names and make sentiments while still working on small pieces.

I spent the most time on my card for the special person. I really wanted to use the Big Hugs die to balance out the large giraffe stamp and thought the Balloon Duo stencil was a perfect background and a way to incorporate the green from my color scheme. The tiny birthday sentiment from Big Top Birthday modified the Big Hugs sentiment and I look forward to using that trick again.

I hope you enjoyed my party ensemble. I have loved seeing all the other talented designers in this challenge and wish the best of luck to everyone!

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a little gift bag made from an envelope. I sealed my A2 sized envelope and then scored three sides at 1/2 inch and cut a small sliver off the fourth side to create my opening. I decorated the bag with stencils and stamps from Neat and Tangled. For more details, be sure to check out my video tutorial.

Distress Oxide Inks for Solid Stamping with Neat and Tangled Little Tangles Challenge

Miss You Cards by Jess Crafts featuring Neat and Tangled Better Together

Hello crafty friends! I took the time to play along in the Neat and Tangled Little Tangles Challenge 82. I love Neat and Tangled stamps and find myself buying stamps designed by the super talented Elena of Just Me from them often. However, I don't always take the time to share cards I make using those stamps but I love playing along in challenges so this time I took the masking challenge and create a fun background over the masked off images of the Better Together stamp set. Check out the video for more info:

Distress Background Oxide vs Traditional featuring Little Tangles Challenge 81

Dinosaur Card featuring Neat and Tangled Prehistoric by Jess Crafts #neatandtangled #jesscrafts

Hello crafty friends! Today I have something a bit different. I took the time to play along in the Neat and Tangled Little Tangles Challenge 81. I love Neat and Tangled stamps and find myself buying something almost every release because I have such a weakness for stamps designed by the super talented Elena of Just Me. However, I don't always take the time to share cards I make using those stamps because I'm not sure if the tutorials will be helpful, but today I've added a Distress Ink twist that hopefully intrigues some of you. Check out the video for more info:

I've always loved using traditional Distress inks with stencils and so I wanted to play around a bit with one of my old techniques with the new Distress Oxides. The technique still works but it's a bit different. You get a much softer look with the Oxides.

I am also planning on turning these two encouraging cards into Any Hero Mail for Mary Polanco's Drive. I hope you'll consider joining. I have some tips for writing Any Hero mail on my Card Drive Resources page

Little Tangles 76 Anything Goes

Valentine Card with Neat and Tangled Nuts about You by Jess Gerstner

Hello crafty friends! Like many others I fell in love with Nuts about You stamp set from Neat and Tangled. Since I missed out on the Simon Says Stamp exclusive version of the squirrels I decided to jump on this set. For today's card I played around with the Neat and Tangled Geometric stencil and colored in the squirrels in the nut with my Gansai Tambi watercolors. This month's challenge over on the Little Tangles blog is Anything Goes which is a great reason to just play with whatever stamps you have or make whatever card you need.

Little Tangles Challenge Clean and Simple

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a card for the Neat and Tangled Little Tangles challenge. The current challenge is clean and simple. This works pretty well for me since I love the clean and simple look but also because I have limited access to supplies for the past few and next few weeks. But just before we left I treated myself to a few new Neat and Tangled sets and so I had to bring them along. For today's card I used my Koi Sketchbox watercolors and the Into the Woods stamp set.

Little Tangles #7

The newest Little Tangles challenge from Neat and Tangled stamps is a sketch challenge. It took me two tries but I created this simple card with Crate Paper paper and the Little Bear set. I have been using up paper and making cards for Operation Write Home and this one will be in the box I'm sending soon.

Little Tangles and Pumpkin Spice Shop

Here is a card I made with two challenges in mind. The Little Tangles challenge is to make a love themed card preferably using Neat and Tangled stamps.  The only set I have so far is Little Bear but the sentiment and cute bear worked fab. I used Basic Grey True Love papers and added Glimmer Mist and paint to a chipboard heart. The Pumpkin Spice Shop challenge is to make a valentine so it came together easily. I'm thinking this valentine will be perfect for my aunt who loves bears.

Little Tangles #1

Neat and Tangled makes some super cute stamps and I recently took advantage of free shipping to treat myself to this set Little Bear. I got my stamps just in time for the new Neat and Tangled challenge blog Little Tangles. The challenge is to make a card to say hello. I created this simple scene card with stamps from Little Bear and a sentiment from Lawn Fawn. Check out the challenge blog for your chance to win!
