Inked Embossing Folder Technique with Spellbinders Fall Traditions Collection

Hello crafty friends! Today I wanted to sharing a set of cards I made while testing an embossing folder technique. For more about the entire process of making the card please check out the video below.

Spellbinders sent me the embossing folder and stamp set used in today's post and affilaite links are used below.

I've long admired the beautiful results that I've seen others achieve with the inked embossing folder technique but have had mixed results. So for today's cards I wanted to try the two most popular inks in my collection with the technique so I know which one to reach for in the future. I tried a Distress Oxide Ink Pad and a small dye ink pad. I found that the felt pad on both of those made it easier to skim the raised part of the embossing folder and would not recommend a foam ink pad for easiest results. However the larger surface of the Distress Oxide Pad achieved much cleaner results. If you are careful enough you can use any ink pad with the technique but for the fastest and most consistent results I recommend a large felt based ink pad. I will be reaching for my Distress Oxides for this technique going forward.

The inked embossing folder technique is just perfect for this beautiful Falling Leaves embossing folder from Spellbinders and those solid pumpkins from Charming Pumpkins are a great focal point. I look forward to coloring the outline pumpkins included in the set as well in the future.

Mini Slimline Card Template #2 Using 12x12 Paper featuring Michaels Hot Buy Paper

Card for Mini Slimline from 12x12 One Sheet Wonder Template #2 by Jess Crafts

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing how to use up 12x12 patterned papers to make mini slimline cards without creating any patterned paper scraps. I am using cardstock to mat the patterned paper pieces which will create some cardstock scraps. In this blog post, you can find a template for how to cut your paper as well as a sketch to show what should be done with those cuts. Of course feel free to mix it up to your own liking.

6x6 One Sheet Wonder Template #21 featuring Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing how to use up 6x6 patterned papers without creating any scraps. This method is similar to the idea of a One Sheet Wonder and I will refer to them in that way since it makes sense to many crafters. To the best of my knowledge, the One Sheet Wonder is a concept Stampin' Up demonstrators have been using for years and so credit to them for the name and inspiration of the idea. Today I am sharing how to cut up a 6x6 piece of paper that will result in 3 of the exact same card. I am using cardstock to mat the patterned paper pieces which will create some cardstock scraps. In this blog post, you can find a template for how to cut your paper as well as a sketch to show what should be done with those cuts. Of course feel free to mix it up to your own liking.

Reverse Confetti June Just Because Challenge

Clean and Simple Card Featuring Reverse Confetti Huggable by Jess Crafts

I love playing along in the Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge and this month's challenge theme of hello/just because was perfect for me since that is the most common card I make. However, here I am just barely squeezing in a card before the deadline. Those cute little mice are from Huggable, the sentiment is from Says it All, and the paper is from the Sweet Stripes paper pad. Huggable is one of my favorite sets because it is a Valentine set originally but I use it all year long.

6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial with No Scraps- 54 Cards with Michaels Recollections Explosion Box Paper Pad

Hello crafty friends! Today's post/video is a slightly different take on a 6x6 paper pad tutorial. I will be using my One Sheet Wonders to use up an entire paper pad. I'm using some previously shared One Sheet Wonders and introducing the brand new template #20. With this process I can easily whip up a bunch of cards for card drives like Cards for Hospitalized Kids. If you want more info on donating cards or get jokes for your cards please check out my Card Drive Resources page. I LOVE that when I'm done there is nothing left of the patterned paper packs. To see it all in action check out the video.

Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge: Birthday

When I saw the latest Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge was a birthday theme I decided to play along because I can always use a birthday card. I paired the elephant from Cheerful Pals with sentiments from This Says It All. When I started pulling out the supplies I decided to make a few extra, but I switched to a more general theme since that is what I donate most.  There's still  several weeks left so be sure to check out the challenge!
