Dad You're the Best Freebie

I wanted to create a simple new free printable for you to use for Father's Day. Creating cards for guys can definitely be a bit tricky and I always try to keep the design and patterns simple.

I simply printed my tag and then ran it through my die cut machine with a circle die but you could simply trace a slightly larger circle and cut it out. I layered up some Studio Calico papers and then added the tag on top so it would be the focus. Please feel free right click to save the printable and share it with friends on Pinterest.

Happy Owlidays

I wanted to create a simple Christmas card with Lawn Fawn's Winter Owl. I also used the Lawn Fawn Peace Love Joy 6x6 pad. I colored him with Inktense pencils.

Challenges:

Last Friday was the last day for school for us, but we will be moving locations so we had to pack our entire classrooms. It was both exciting and a little sad. This was my first classroom so I've learned and taught a lot in that room. But I am excited to enter a new classroom in August and see how I can make a new space work for me, my coteacher, and my students.

Let's Celebrate

Lawnscaping Challenges has issued an embossing challenge this time around. I love using heat embossing with resist technique so I created the sky by using white glitter heat embossing for the clouds from Into the Woods and then painting it over with some basic watercolors.

I also wanted to use the same technique to make some fun balloons from the Admit One dies to turn this into a great birthday card for a dog lover. I used black heat embossing to make a pattern on the balloons and colored over them with water color as well.

I used my Inktense pencils to color in the adorable doggies and fire hydrant from Critters in the Dog Park. Then layered them up to create a fun party scene. The simple sentiment was one of the freebie stamps you get when you order from Lawn Fawn. Thanks for stopping by!

You Are Foxy

I have found that if I leave my printed cardstock out for a few days I can color with Copics without smearing. This was very exciting for me because I love work with cute digis but especially my own digis. This cute little fox can be found in my shop for just $1.

I used the current Seize the Sketch for this card. It's is very simple and open. I added some extra details with the banners and twine. The sentiment is from Newton's Nook and the paper is from Studio Calico.

Thank You Hero

It was the last week of school for me and I was so proud of my students for all their hard work and grateful to the parents who shared gifts with me. This adorable printable tag came from Sweet Metel Moments. Even though some days teaching kindergarten can be a real struggle, I am lucky to have such a meaningful and rewarding job.

Anyway... The Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week is Anything Goes. I wanted to work on some Hero mail and I had the idea of combining my free printable with the Paper Smooches Circle of Honor stamp set. I created fireworks by embossing them in gold and dabbing them with a red bingo marker to create my background paper. Then I layered it with Bo Bunny papers and my own printable that was distressed with Antique Linen Distress Inks.

If you are interested in making your own hero card feel free to save my printable by right clicking it. Thank for stopping by!

Nuts About You

The latest Newton's Nook Inky Paws challenge is to add texture. This can be done with cork, metal or wood. It's a great challenge and it took me awhile to decide what I wanted to do. I was pretty sure I would use Sweetheart Tails as it is hands down my favorite Newton's Nook set and I decided I wanted to try creating the look of a squirrel with a nest of nuts in the hole of a tree to play with wood texture. So I used the leaves from Wagon Of Wishes for the base of the nest and then layered up the nuts to complete the look. The squirrel is just popping into the nest. The squirrel, nut, and sentiment are from Sweetheart Tails.
