Anything But a Card Challenge 20

It's time for a new challenge at Anything But a Card. Challenge 20 is "Dust Off Your OLD Supplies". For this challenge we are having a bit of a a spring cleaning theme. Go "Dust off your older supplies" for this challenge - and make something... ANYTHING GOES! Use up those paper scraps, break out tools that haven't seen the light of day, finish up one of those U.F.O's {unfinished objects}... or how about those hoarded stickers - we all have a stash. The theme is open so the possibilities are endless.... just remember create anything except a card... this is going to be FUN!!! This is some super old paper and some old gel pens mixed with a re-purposed candy box to create a gift box.

Anything But a Card Challenge 18

It's time for a new challenge at Anything But a Card. Challenge 18 is to make an ATC. I've never made an ATC before but I understand it's supposed to be a small standalone piece of artwork. So I decided to make a little scene with some Lawn Fawn stamps. This set is Critters in the Forest.

 Hello! It's time for a new challenge at Anything But a Card. Challenge 17 brings "APRIL SHOWERS". For this challenge April Showers - create anything with a WATER theme including mermaids, beaches, seas, the color of seas/oceans, thunderstorms, rainbows, streams, rivers, ponds, snow, spring showers, umbrella, fountains, waterfalls. I went a little unconventional with a layout about a water park adventure from our family trip to Florida. Can't wait to see so other fabulous projects.

Hello!  I'm here to share the latest Anything But a Card challenge. For Challenge 16 we are asking for something inspired! This means create something inspired by someone you admire....can be anyone -and doesn't have to be art related. This may mean a collage of quotes or you could do something inspired by Tim Holtz- techniques. Today I'm sharing a LO inspired by Jana Eubank. I love to use sketches to start my scrapbook pages even though they don't always stick that close to the sketch. I love Jana Eubank's sketches and am inspired by her interpretations. Hello!  I'm here to share the latest Anything But a Card challenge. For Challenge 15 we are asking for something Spring-y or spring colors, or Alice in Wonderland! I created these super simple Easter baskets. I mounted these adorable felt bunnies over the hearts on what were once valentine boxes. When shopping clearance after a holiday always think outside the box.

Anything But a Card Challenge 14

I have a new challenge from Anything But a Card for you today. Challenge 14: Anything Green or Irish or St. Patrick's Day. I love the challenges that seem really broad because we get such a big response of inspiring projects. So I hope you take this opportunity to create a fun little St. Patty's day gift or decor item. My project is an old vitamin container I altered to fill with candy for the holiday. I love being able to take something that was basically garbage and reuse it because it saves me money and means just slightly less trash in the end. The hat embellishment was created using Lawn Fawn's Hats Off to You set. 

Anything But a Card Challenge 13

Over at Anything But a Card we have a kind of eclectic challenge this week. Based on it being the 13th challenge out theme is anything related to superstitions, magic, fortune telling, gambling, the number 13, 13 embellishments, the sky is the limit!  With this in mine I included 13 owls across my layout. I have been trying to scrapbook all of the old family vacation photos I have. I've actually made a pretty good progress  so far too.  Anyway I hope you are able to take on the challenge with us this week.

Anything But a Card 12: Share the Love

Today at Anything But a Card we begin a new challenge perfect for the season: Share the Love- anything related to hearts, Valentines, love sick, love struck, love stinks, red, cupid, honeymoon, wedding, get the idea?  So this is a nice broad category that should generate lots of fantastic entries!  Be sure to link yours up at the challenge home. Also check out the other fabulous DT projects. For my project I used my Paper Made Bakery Kit and the Fresh Squeezed Hot, Hot, Hot stamp set. It's a simple jar to hold coffee for a valentine's treat to my mom.

Anything But a Card Challenge 11: Tie It Up

I created the cute coffee treat holder for the latest challenge at Anything But a Card. This week we are challenging you to "Tie It Up" which is basically to use fibers in some way. As you can see I used some ribbon and some twine. All the supplies for this treat holder (including the holder) are from my Paper Made Bakery Kit with the Hot, Hot, Hot stamp set from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.

Anything But a Card Challenge 10: Things with Wings

Our first challenge for 2013 at Anything But a Card is Things with Wings. I love that this challenge is so simple that you could create a wide range of projects. I used it to get a jump start on Valentine's day by making a treat holder with some butterflies. The paper is from my new Paper Made Bakery Kit but the 'sweet' sticker and the Kreaxions butterfly punch are old products from my stash so this is perfect for the Our Daily Bread Designs new/old challenge too.

We have a great end of the year challenge at Anything But a Card. The challenge is simple anything goes OR show us your fave non-card project from 2012. Very simple and a possibly a way to reflect on your crafting from this past year. I created these simple matchbook style Christmas treats/gags.

Anything But A Card 8: Celebrating the Light

Hello everyone!  This week at Anything But a Card we have a fun an easy challenge.  The challenge theme is Celebrating the Light or Seasonal Holiday. You can take the Challenge's light aspect and do something that represents light- candles, fire, sun, etc. lights, lamps, etc or do something related to a Winter Holiday- Channukah, Yule, Christmas, Kawanzaa.  The choice is yours! For this challenge I created these simple treat holders by putting rub-ons and gems on paper circles. Can't wait to see what you make!

Anything But a Card Challenge 7

Hello everyone!  Today I'm sharing my project for the Anything But a Card challenge blog.

  We are moving to the sea for inspiration for this challenge- you can use anything sea/ocean related- colors, marine life, mermaids, beaches, sand, etc. and/or let the picture inspire you!

My project is a page from my Instagram mini Smashbook. I love Smashbooks and this book had been a fun way to share my Instagrams since they are too small for a 12x12 LO. Can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge.

ABAC Challenge 6: A Stitch in Time

This week the challenge at Anything But a Card is A Stitch in Time. You can use any element that represents time- watch, clock, clock parts, stopwatch, hour glass, calendar, dates, postage stamps, etc  AND/OR stitching- real or faux! I hope you will be able to join us and share your project by next Saturday.

This week I'm showcasing my album for my trip to France last spring. There are lots of elements of time in this album because there are calendars and dates to keep track of events.

My album was made with a Smash book base and which I think made the album so quick and easy. I'm not the most up to date scrapbooker so I was happy to have a simple way to make sure that this album got done. 

Everyone was asking about the trip and it was great to be able to simply hand them the scrapbook.

Anything But a Card Challenge 5

This week at Anything But a Card we have a simple challenge that can also help with any last minute Halloween projects. The challenge is to use black in your project. The DT has created a variety of fun projects so check them out for some inspiration and then get to work sharing your creation.

ABAC Challenge 4: Halloween/Fall

This week at Anything But a Card we are looking for your Halloween creations. This should be an easy one because Halloween lends itself to lots of fun treat holders. In fact most of the projects for ABAC around this time will be treat holders from me because I'm excited to give them to friends and family. This week I have some upcycled packaging decorated for Halloween. Can't wait to see your Halloween project over the next two weeks!

ABAC Challenge 3

Challenge 3 at Anything But a Card is up! I love this challenge because it's simple but fun. This week simply use some sparkle and shine in your project (stickles, gems, metallic, etc). I use some glitter ribbon, stickles, and gems on a Halloween treat bag. I love working with this challenge blog because of the creative variety of projects we get in response to the challenges. Can't wait to see your take on this new challenge!

ABAC Challenge 2

I'm so amazed at the response and talent for ABAC's first challenge. I know that anything goes challenges are super easy to fit a project into and might get more response than others but I'm so happy you all have found us and I hope most of you stick around for our next challenge. This week we are challenging you to use texture. This can mean fabric, paint, fiber, etc. I added most of my texture with fiber. I used the Paper Made Bakery September kit to create a cute tag set. I inked up the chipboard to better match the tag then wrapped Lawn Fawn twine around the frame. Everything but the ink was from the Paper Made Bakery kit. So have fun using texture on Anything But A Card and then link it up to share. 

Anything But A Card Challenge 1

I'm proud to be working with a new challenge blog called Anything But A Card. The idea is to think outside the box and to share some of the other fab projects many of us work on. ABAC Challenge blog is designed to provide a biweekly challenge for crafters of all kind to create something other than a card! You can do ATC's, tags, sewing, scrapbook layouts, felting, painting, sculpture, altered items, textiles, the list is endless! The only thing NOT allowed is a card!

There are no prizes, but we will feature Three Inspirational Projects from among the challenge entries after the challenge ends. You may combine with any other challenges. No limits to the number of entries for each challenge. This is simply a challenge that helps us stretch our creativity while having fun. 

The first challenge is an "Anything Goes" challenge. I created some cute treat bags to share with my teacher friends at school using a cute owl from Lawn Fawn's Creatures in the Forest. These are super simple because you just cut paper that is as long as the zipper on a ziplock bag then fold and decorate. It would be a fun way to brighten any teacher's day as they head back to school on Tuesday. Since I was creating a little set I laid out everything assembly line style and it made it super quick but still very cute.
