Card Patterns Sketch 123

It's been great to have some time off although I do have a part time summer job. But still I have time for scrapping and for catching up on some reading. My card is for the Card Patterns sketch and uses papers from My Mind's Eye. I know that many manufacturers are releasing new lines but there are still ones from last CHA that are new to me like this one that I'm excited to have.

Card Patterns Sketch 105

In my opinion this isn't one of my better cards but I love the cute Kioshi patterns and the border created by my Kreaxions 913 punch. I used the latest Card Patterns sketch on this one.

Card Patterns Sketch 104

I'm always thinking about cards that will work well for the various card drives I know about and simple hello cards that work for boys are always good. I created this simple card with the latest Card Patterns sketch. I'm loving that collage paper even more broken up into tiny squares. The paper is Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend and sentiment is their Tiny Type stickers.

Cards for Dudes

I've been working on making some boy cards for a card drive. Get Happy by Cosmo Cricket is perfect for this project. I used the Card Patterns sketch for these two.

Below are a few more designs I've recently made for no particular challenge. I used a lot of different stamp sets; Sassafras, Imaginisce, Basic Grey, Inkadinkado, and Making Memories on these cards but they were all with Get Happy papers. I made about three of each design so this has been a great way to use up my stash.

Card Patterns Sketch 99

Here's my card for the new Card Patterns sketch 99. I turned it on its side to better suit my needs. Used some fabbie Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday papers. I've followed the lovely Amy for quite awhile and now that she's on the DT I'm always reminded about the sketches and hopefully I'll actually participate from time to time. This card is also for the Paper Sundaes distressing challenge (inked up edges).

Luv Ya Valentine

I created this valentine with Card Patterns Sketch #98 and for the White, Black, and Pink challenge at the Paper Variety. I was lucky enough to win a prize pack from a Scrapjazz challenge and I used some brand new goodies to make this card including the Bo Bunny paper, Adorn It sticker, and American Crafts Remarks letter stickers.

Card Patterns Sketch 93

I was using Sassafras Anthem on a project and so it was still spread all over my desk when I saw the new Card Patterns sketch. I thought the collection would be perfect for the new sketch especially the zig zag bottom strips that I used on the side of the card. I also made this card for the Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I encourage you all to visit the Moxie Fab World and take part in any of the challenges. I took some time for me this weekend and made a few projects for different challenges which I plan to share throughout the week.

Card Patterns Sketch 85

I made this fun but simple card for an engagement party my aunt will be attending. I love the bling bling element from the CC Girl Friday collection and thought this was the perfect time to use it. I was inspired by the Card Patterns sketch.

Card Patterns Sketch 83

Student teaching has kept me super busy and tired. When I get home after a day in the classroom and 2 1/2 hours on the road I have very little energy left, even for cardmaking. But this weekend I decided I had to take some time for myself. I was inspired by the Card Patterns sketch although I used a rectangle shape instead of an oval because I was using the Pixielicous elements. Pixielicious is a very cutesy line, but I tried to tone that down a bit to go with the more elegant font of the rub-on sentiment.

Card Patterns Sketch 76

This weekend I was making some cards for the upcoming Lawn Fawns Hearts Cards for Kids Blog Hop on Aug 18th. I was playing with some printables from Free Pretty Things for You and decided to make a card with this tag as well, though it wasn't good for the drive because I had already added the Happy Birthday sentiment. I simply save the images as jpegs and then use gimp (free software similar to photoshop) to add text. Then I print on white cardstock. During the blog hop I will have a cute free printable to share with visitors similar to this cute bird tag. Last but not least, I used the Card Patterns sketch for the card.

Card Patterns 71

I'm still obsessed with my new DeLovely papers so I used them with the Card Patterns sketch this week. I layered a Basic Grey rubon over the DeLovely element. I also layered a gem over the middle of the buttons. I'm not a big fan of buttons with four holes but they were the right size so I took care of the problem by just covering it up. In related new even though I just got my hands on DeLovely Cosmo Cricket is revealing all their new lines next week. They've had fun guess the name of the line games all week and while I didn't guess any right, it was a fun contest.

Sketch and Theme Combo

I wanted to create a card for the Pink Elephant nature challenge in addition to the LO I made. I combined the nature challenge with the Card Patterns sketch. I knew I wanted to use Basic Grey Green at Heart, I love the bright colors and the 'bloom & grow' sentiment seemed to fit perfect with the sketch. I added the leaf in lieu of the circle detail. Card Patterns and Pile It On

I recently received the three newest collections from Cosmo Cricket. So I spent the rainy day crafting with my new goodies. I've used the Material Girl collection with Card Patterns sketch and the Pile It On pastels challenge to make this card. I love this collection more in person than I did while drooling over it online. Tomorrow is a brand new Sketch Girl sketch so I will be back with another card this time from the Joy Ride collection.

Card Patterns Anniversary Sketch

So I didn't get a chance to finish my card until the evening because I had quite a bit of homework to finish up before the weekend. Which has led to this iffy photo but hopefully I'll get a new one tomorrow when its nice and sunny. GCD Studios is announcing their new DT on Monday as well as some very fun other positions. So with all the excitement I decided to play with some GCD paper and tags. I used the Card Patterns sketch. Its their one year anniversary! I've played along with the blog periodically since the beginning and I must say they have had fabulous designers and sketches. I also decided to pull in the Creative Belli Eyelets challenge. It always feels good to use up some goodies I haven't played with in a awhile.

Card Patterns, Pink Elephant, and Frosted Designs

I got new Sassafras Lass this weekend! When I saw the Vintage Yummy collection pack at Michael's and had a 50% off coupon on my hand I just couldn't resist. This card combines three challenges. I started with the Card Patterns sketch. The sketch had hearts but I've had enough of hearts for awhile so I incorporated the Frosted Designs challenge to use a star. I used gems instead of the other small heart because I couldn't decide on any other shape that kept a nice balance. Pink Elephant called for ribbon this week and while I love the paper strips on the end of the Sass paper I felt three would be too much so I balanced it with ribbon. For those of you who are getting snow like we are in NJ stay warm and safe on the roads! Snow may be pretty but we've gotten more than our fair share this past week.

Caardvarks and Card Patterns Valentines

I wanted to do another card swap because I love receiving handmade cards from other talented crafters and fortuante for me I saw that Tricia was hosting one over at Paper Popsicles for valentines so I joined in on the fun. These are the cards I made as valentines. I know they are not the most traditional valentines but I recently realized that I don't have much valentines stuff. So I used the cute owl paper piecing from the newest issue of Scrapbooks Etc and DCWV Once Upon a Time paper collection. Since they are valentines they work with the Paper Popsicles theme of love this week.

I used two challenges to complete the cards as well. I followed this week's Card Patterns sketch and also the Caardvarks red hearts challenge with the red hearts on the owl's tummies. I can't wait to see the valentines from the swap!

Four Challenges in One

As classes get started this week I had some extra time but wanted to combine challenges to make the most of it. For this card I combined the Dotty Divas advert challenge and the Flutter by Wednesday challenge because they paired really well. The Flutter By challenge called for embossing with butterflies, angels, or fairies. Dotty Divas advert had many colorful butterflies so I choose to make by butterflies a bold red. I also incorporated the Pile It On challenge to use three ribbon and the Card Patterns sketch although I did modify the sketch slightly.

This weekend I will be working on the upcoming Sketch Girl sketch with a template from Perfect Presentations. Leigh Ann has done such a great job including instructions and examples with the template that you are excited to use them right away.

Card Patterns and Pink Elephant

Before classes get started again I'm determined to participate in a few challenges. For this card I combined the Card Patterns sketch with the Pink Elephant theme challenge of birthday. I used the SEI Bridgeport collection for everything but the sentiment which is Making Memories. I won the Bridgeport collection from the Paper Crafts blog and I love it so much I never want to use it but when I do I'm always so happy with the result.

Digiments and Card Patterns

This card was made with the brand new free contest Digiment. Card Patterns and Pink Elephant

This card was made with the Card Patterns sketch this week and the Pink Elephant challenge to use our favorite color combo. I think purple and yellow is a bit uncommon but very fun. I've made several of these paper flowers for swaps and a giveaway but I wanted to have one for myself so I made one for this card.
