CPS #219

Loved the simple but timeless sketch at CPS this week. I interpreted the sketch wide. Here’s my take with some new to me Sassafras Applejack papers.

CPS #211

Here's a quick card for this week's CPS sketch. I used Cosmo Cricket's Hello Sunshine adding a stamp to the element panel. I love how their element panels help me make quick clean and simple cards! This is also for the Use It Tuesday challenge to use Red in honor of Japan. They are giving away a donation to the Red Cross which increases depending on the participants this week. I urge you to make a red project to increase awareness and to bolster the donation efforts of Use It Tuesday.

CPS #209

Here's a quick card for CPS 209. Made with Cosmo Cricket Delovely papers and a cardstock elements. Added some random bling and scraps of ribbon. My spring break is just about over and so I'll need to be getting to some school work this weekend, but it was nice to have a few days off to just be with my family. I went with my aunt and cousins to NYC to see the tapings of two TV shows and today I will be out with my mom and sister. Hope you're having a great weekend!

CPS #208

I used some older Get Happy by Cosmo Cricket to make a card based on the latest CPS sketch. The birds stamp is from Autumn Leaves and the little flower is a scrap from my Kreaxions 913 punch.

CPS #207

I'm excited to share with you all that I was chosen for the new DT at Just Imagine Crafts distributors of the fantastic Kreaxions line of punches. I love their punches because of the unique 4 in 1 system that allows a single punch to have two corner and two border designs. They are priced similar to many border punches I've seen but offer 4 times the function perfect for someone who likes to get a lot of bang for their buck. I'm sure you'll be hearing more about these punches from me soon but I wanted to share a card using the most basic feature of the punches. I created this rather simple card for the latest sketch at CPS using one of the corner features of the 913 Lilly Punch. I punched three small square on each corner creating fun decorative squares that were easily finished off with gems and a sentiment.

In My Thoughts

Here's my card using the latest CPS sketch. It's made with BG Ambrosia and stamps. Keeping this short because I have to get some homework done but needed a crafty break.

Butterfly Valentine

This card started with the beautiful Cricut butterfly from the Tinkerbell and Friend cartridge. I had two challenges in mind when I picked out that cut. Fantabulous Cricut asked us to use a neglected cartridge. I just got my Cricut and month ago and many of my cartridges only two weeks ago so none is really neglected, but I did write off this cartridge as one I would rarely use (gotten as a gift). Bitten By the Bug 2 wanted to see butterflies so I went searching the Tinker Bell book to see if I could combine the challenges. It took awhile to cut and assemble all the pieces but I'm quite happy with the butterfly in the end. I then created the rest of the card based on the CPS sketch and using some Bo Bunny paper. If you love working with your Cricut or other die cut machine I want to remind you to come join us at Die Cuttin Divas. This week the simple fun challenge is to create a winter card and the prize is a beautiful camera strap cover.

Happy Spring Card

I'm loving this October Afternoon Thrift Shop pad I just got. It has great colors for spring and I'm trying to think ahead and get some Valentine/Easter cards done. I made this card with the CPS sketch. CPS is being sponsored by Flowersoft this week and I just got my first jar in a grab bag this weekend. I really need to make a point to try it out, I've seen such pretty cards made with it. Also since I made it a goal to participate in more Cricut challenges, I made this card for two Cricut challenges. Bitten by the Bug 2 asked for hummingbirds but other birds were ok if you didn't have hummingbirds. I'm still only working with two cartridges (though lucky me more are waiting at my Grams house) so I didn't have a hummingbird. I used this cute little chick from Stretch Your Imagination. The Jitterbuggin' challenge was to use birds as well so it worked out quite easily.

CPS Year in Review

CPS is having a year in review challenge. Simply take any sketch from 148 to 198 and make a card. Super easy except that when faced with all those sketches it was a little hard to choose. I settled on sketch 184 because I knew I would be able to use one of my pretty, but quite old Basic Grey flourish rub-ons. I've had some trouble with older rub-ons not working anymore so I've put them in a basket by my table determined to use them up soon. I hoarded them because I thought they were so lovely, but no one will appreciate their loveliness unless I use them. Carly Robertson is generously sponsoring with a $20 gift certificate to Waltzingmouse Stamps! For any one who's going out to new years eve parties have fun but drive safe! And to all I wish you the happiest new year yet!

CPS 183

Last weekend when crafting with my mom, I created this card for the CPS challenge but it took me awhile to get good light. I was a little intimidated by all the strips on the side, but then I thought these tiny roses from DeLovely would work great. Creating this card made me fall in love with DeLovely all over again because I love that it is so bright and cheery.

CPS 182

Last week at the LSS I treated myself quite a bit (even though I only spent about $20) including my first few sheets of Bella Blvd and Echo Park. I pulled out the Echo Park papers for this card based on the CPS sketch. I paired the paper with an old diecut and an even older Studio G stamp. Love when new papers can make old products look fresh again.

CPS 180

With the recent Lawn Fawn Blog Hop I realized that I still didn't have enough boy cards to send so I decided to use the simple CPS sketch this week to make another one. The paper and journaling spot are from the Colorbok Friendly Forest collection. The journaling spot had some flowers along the bottom so I chose to cover it up to keep it more boyish.

CPS #179

Yesterday I got the chance to scrapbook with my boyfriend's mom. I love the chance to get crafty with others and chat with people who understand why this hobby is so much fun. We also got to visit the scrapbook store. Seeing it through her eyes made me realize just how obsessed I am. Not only do I know the layout of my LSS really well, I also can tell the manufacturer and line of a paper from across the room. Is there a 12 step program for paper addiction? Anyway, I made this simple card while we were crafting with the CPS sketch using Cosmo Cricket's The Boyfriend line. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

A Guy Card to Share

I love the elements from the CC Boyfriend collection, so much guy card potential. So I combined these fun shades with a sentiment spelled out in Tiny Type. I'm hoping my LSS which will now be carrying Cosmo Cricket will be carrying tiny type because I'm running low on some letters, but back to the card. This card was made with the CPS sketch being sponsored by EAD Designs. I also incorporated the Paper Sundaes challenge to use stitching. Paper Sundaes is being sponsored by Belles and Whistles stamps.

Cards and a Recipe to Share

This first card is for challenge #17 at Easy Craft Projects Challenges. A new to me challenge blog with a photo inspiration. The photo is various word strips similar to the one on my card. I loved the American Craft background paper and unfortunately the colors are a little off in the photo but I like the way it looks IRL.

This second card is for the Etsy Inspired Challenge. I just found them last week and was lucky enough to win my first challenge. I love the inspiration there so I'm back for a new challenge. This week the store is Mermaid Tears Jewelry and there was lots of beautiful jewelery there. My card was primarily inspired by this pastel stacked sea glass necklace. Head on over to the blog to play along. This card features 4 different PP from Basic Grey's Kioshi 6x6 pad. I used my Fiskars punch for the borders.

My last card is based on the CPS sketch. I was also inspired by the vintage typewriter posted atPaper Crafts as part of their Inspired Style challenge. I used Basic Grey Kioshi again with some Prima flowers.

One last thing... I am currently procrastinating from my school work by making muffins and sharing some cards with you. The smell of banana nut wafting through the air is delicious. Need a recipe?

3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 mashed overripe banana
crushed walnuts
1/2 egg
1/3 cup applesauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 brown sugar

Mix all dry ingredients together and mix all wet ingredients together separately. Then combine and add walnuts. Stir just until combined. Put in the oven at 350 for 25 mins. There is applesauce instead of oil so simply spray the cupcake pans with some cooking spray or use foil liners. It makes only 6 standard sized muffins. The recipe can be doubled though. With only two people in our house six is plenty.

Card Style Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Here's another attempt at using a specific style for the Moxie Fab World Style Challenge. This time I was going for classy and elegant. I used a sheer flocked ribbon, some rich purples, and a shiny finish on the background. These are SEI papers my mom picked up on clearance at Micheal's big sale a few weeks ago. I used the CPS sketch this week as well. I've been checking out many other people's interpretations of the different styles and I encourage everyone to give the challenges a shot no matter what your own personal style is because its fun to challenge and stretch yourself.

Tuesday Trigger Poppin' Off the Page

This week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger is very funky and I knew right away what image I wanted to use. Check it out and play along!

Besides the trigger I used the CPS sketch. I'm not very experienced with marker coloring so I kept things solid. I also kept the embellishments simple because the stamped element was so attention grabbing and the most inspired by the trigger.

More Cosmo Cards to Share

My package of DeLovely has arrived. So I got right to playing with some challenges. First up my card for the Card Patterns sketch. I love the sweet images that are part of the cardstock elements.

Then I made a card based on the CPS sketch for the week. I jazzed up the image with a rub-on sentiment and some bling.

I'll finish up with a simple and a bit untraditional 4th of July card made using the CC Souvenir collection. I included another border strip as part of the sentiment.

CPS and Caardvarks

This card is for both Caardvarks and CPS. The Caardvarks challenge is to use embossing and stamping. For CPS, I replaced the arrow in the sketch with a simple swirl. I used Capella papers and the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Very Merry Strawberry CPS

When I saw the CPS sketch this week I thought of the red paper from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety line and how it would work perfect with gems for the side of the sketch. I kept it simple because I think the die cut card from the line is pretty cute all on its own. I love that I got some crafting in this week but I need to also go get to that homework thats piling up done.
